Simple end effective home remedies for sore throat can give you a relief. Sore throat is the inflammation of the back of the throat (pharynx). Common causes for a sore throat is viral infections like cold and flu or bacterial infection that needs antibiotics. Swollen tonsil can also be a reason for it and can be annoying and painful to swallow.

Home Remedies For Sore Throat
Sore Throat Treatment with gargles
- Gargle throat with salt water mix. Mix some salt with warm water and gargle every few hours.
- Vinegar sore throat gargle. Mix about 2-3 teaspoon vinegar with a cup of warm water and gargle every few hours.
- Basil leaves gargle and drink. Boil water with some basil leaves and take it as a drink or use as a gargle. This home remedy gives a good relief from a sore throat.
- Mango bark sore throat treatment is a very effective home remedy for sore throat. Extracted fluid from mango (10ml) is mixed with 125ml of water and gargle your throat.
- Cinnamon sore throat treatment. Boil a glass of water with a teaspoon powdered cinnamon, a pinch of pepper powder and two teaspoon of honey. This is a very good home remedy for sore throat. Cinnamon is well known for its health benefits. Ginger also can be used with cinnamon and honey to make a effective sore throat remedy.
- Garlic, honey and cayenne remedy. 4 cloves of garlic, 1 tbsp honey, 1/8tsp cayenne mixed. Chew a spoonful when needed. This provides relief from painful swallowing. Great home remedy for sore throat.
- Zinc lozenges
Sore Throat Treatment with tea
Herbal tea is good for sore throat. Drink a cup of herbal tea every few hours.
Lemon and honey mixed in a cup of hot water. Drink as much as you need.
Chamomile tea
Cinnamon tea
Wild cherry
You can also make red sage tea. One teaspoon of dried red sage infused in on cup of boiling water. Wait for 10 mins, strain and drink. You can turn it in to a gargle for your sore throat by adding vinegar.
Make tea with fresh sage. 25 gram fresh sage, 600ml water and a pinch of cayenne. After cooling it strain before drinking.
Rest and take it easy, stay in bed if you can. If your sore throat doesn't require medical attention rest and some home remedies should help you recover.

I found these home remedies to be very interesting and many of them worth a try. I know that people who are allergic to poison ivy, oak and sumac may also have an allergic reaction to the skin of a mango. Is that also true for mango bark?
